Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway

If you're not familiar with the multitalented whirlwind that is Little Willow, then you're really missing out–she's an actress, singer, dancer, bookseller, web designer, (I know I'm missing a few things here)…and, of course, blogger. She posts in-depth reviews, author interviews, and excellent thematic booklists at her blog, Bildungsroman, and she's also on the judging panel for this year's YA Fiction category.

Recently, Little Willow reviewed finalist title Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway, the story of a high school girl whose life suddenly becomes all too public when her musician ex-boyfriend writes a song about their breakup–and it goes to the top of the charts. In addition to having a cast of fully-rounded, appealing, and funny characters, this book is sure to appeal to music lovers:

The book has a lot of musical references, ranging from classic rock to modern pop. Each chapter begins with a song lyric, citing the song title and band. Benway really captures how it feels before and after attending a really good concert, as well as during it.
