I want to express my profound appreciation to our organizers and first-round judges who'll still be reading and debating books over the course of Christmas break. You make Cybils happen — and you keep coming back with brilliant, unpredictable and fascinating short lists year after year.
Things will be quiet on the blog this week, but we'll be roaring back to life next week. We'll be asking you for your own short list predictions and for links to your "best of 2009" posts.
And, of course, we'll be rousing you from bed early on New Year's Day, hangover or not, for the Big Reveal. The finalists will be posted at 9 a.m. Eastern time (6 a.m. Pacific). As with all our previous lists, it'll include a brief note on each short-listed title from the judges.
