Hi. I'd like to complain about Leanne Davidson's book, Alby and the Cat: Showbusiness being wrongly disqualified because someone either can't read a date or a title. Leanne's FIRST book was published in 2008, not this, her second, so it should not have been disqualified. She has tried repeatedly to contact you without success. As her editor, and a fan, I felt obliged to try to have her book reinstated on the short list, since she was refused the chance to be judged, and ask you to consider her seriously as one of the winners. There is no point having awards if a book can be removed on the whim of someone who claims it was not published in the correct year, when that is clearly not the case. I ask you to please do something about this as soon as possible, so your awards do not lose credibility. Kind regards, Nan
Hi, Nan. Leanne contacted me via email and I'm tracking down what went wrong with her book's nomination. It's likely that it was simply a case of mistaken identity and certainly not deliberate on anyone's part. Thanks for contacting us.
