REVIEW
Spilling Ink by Ellen Potter and Anne Mazer

Sarah Mulhern Gross is a 6th grade teacher who has blogged about books, reading and writing at The Reading Zone since 2007. She's also one of the brains behind the recent ARCs Float On campaign to get more books into classroom libraries. Sarah has spent a few years as a loyal Middle Grade Fiction judge, but this year she's lending her expertise to the Round I panel for Middle Grade and YA Nonfiction.

SpillingInk Earlier this year, she reviewed Cybils NFMG/YA nominee Spilling Ink: A Young Writer's Handbook, written by Ellen Potter and Anne Mazer and illustrated by Matt Phelan. This beginning guide to the writing craft is both informative and funny (and makes a great gift!). Sarah says in her review:

Potter and Mazer have put together a fantastic guide to the craft of writing that doesn’t actually feel like a guide. There is no textbook-feel to this book. Instead, it feels like two friends sitting down over coffee and spilling secrets.
