Review
“Press Here” by Herve Tullet

We've been accused of having too many librarians here at Cybils. Is that actually possible? If we lost our librarians, we'd be missing out on people like Travis Jonkers, who brings a breezy, personable writing style to his book reviews. Travis blogs at 100 Scope Notes and also reviews for School Library Journal. Picture books are his specialty and he's repeating as a judge for us this year.

His review of Press Here makes me want to go out and grab this book for my kids, both of whom have outgrown it. Doesn't matter. I mean, how can you resist when he describes it this way:

What about a book you can hand to almost any kid and it would make them smile? What about a book that will provide some of the most eager page turns you’ve ever seen? Press Here, from the wildly creative French author/illustrator Hervé Tullet, has that ability. Simple in appearance, genius in execution. Sure to go down as one of my favorite picture books of 2011.
