Farewell, Jean Craighead George

Exactly a week after the loss of Maurice Sendak, the children's book world has suffered another loss with the passing of Jean Craighead George. George wrote over 100 books and inspired generations of young adult readers with a love of nature. I still remember reading My Side of the Mountain as a child. I thought it sounded like a grand adventure, and I was ready to take off into the woods right away. I was fascinated by all the details about how Sam survived in the woods, and oh, did I want a falcon!
