After 15 years of binge-reading, re-reading, fan-fictioning, nominating, voting for, and celebrating our favorite books, we at the CYBILS Awards have the privilege to once again invite you to be a part of the process of recognizing the stories which combine both “literary merit and popular appeal.”
The CYBILS Awards are passionate about the stories we love equitably reflecting the communities where we live, and we’re committed to our plan to diversify our reading panels. We love and appreciate the readers who’ve made us who we are these first fifteen years, and we’re serious about building on what we have to make the CYBILS Awards even better. So, here’s the deal:
we want to invite our whole reading community to participate in the CYBILS Awards in 2021, and to especially extend the invitation to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color intersectional communities, whose lived experiences will broaden the viewpoint of our panels.
If you’re a blogger, vlogger, BookInsta-er, BookTokker, or some other version of book-sharer on the socials, we’d love to have as many new faces and voices as we can fit in our reader and judge panels.
Additional voices and perspectives would be a great gift for the CYBILS 16th birthday.
