Sam is a former kindergarten teacher, a current stay-at-home-mom, and a lifelong lover of children's literature. She has been involved with the Cybils for two years as a judge for the Fiction Picture Book/Board Book category, and she enjoys sharing her passion for reading with kids of all ages.
As an Air Force spouse, Sam has moved around a lot and taught at different schools, where she was recognized as a team leader, a mentor teacher, and a teacher of the year. She also worked as a group fitness instructor and a children's group counselor for victims of domestic violence.
When the COVID lockdown hit and she became a mom, Sam looked for new ways to connect with her former students and other book lovers. She started doing online readalouds and book reviews, which she has been posting on her website for the past three years.
Sam's mission is to help every child learn to love reading by helping parents discover the best books for their kids!
