Results of the Cybils Challenge, Part 2: Madigan Reads

Today's featured Cybils Challenger is Madigan McGillicuddy of Madigan Reads, who lists her own slate of Cybils nominees–definitely more than a few contenders on it, if we're to hazard a guess. She also provided an excellent eleventh-hour list of potential picture book nominees for anyone who was still trying to figure out who to nominate. Her kidlit blog faves include quite a few familiar faces at Cybils, but it's her shout-out to independent bookstores that we especially liked and chose to feature here:

Little Shop of Stories in Decatur has wonderful storytimes, and bright, clean, pretty displays.  When I lived in Austin, TX, I frequently could be found shopping at Book People, a Texas-sized independent with a cool stage/magic passage/storytelling spot in the children's area. No other store could ever take the place in my heart of Children's Bookworld in Los Angeles though, with their fabulous selection, busy line-up of author visits and highly-knowledgable staff.  I was lucky to work there for over 6 happy years!

What a marvelous variety and geographic spread–now we all have a few more places to put on the sightseeing list for Decatur, Austin, and LA. Thanks, Madigan! Read the rest of the post here.
