REVIEW
Dreamdark: Silksinger by Laini Taylor

If you haven't visited Jen Robinson's Book Page, the blog of our utterly wonderful Cybils Literacy Evangelist and generally indispensable source of information Jen Robinson, then you're missing out on one of the best resources in the kidlitosphere. She's a great friend, an excellent reviewer, and a tireless advocate for children's and YA books.

DreamdarkSilksinger Last summer she reviewed a copy of Fantasy and Science Fiction finalist Dreamdark: Silksinger by Laini Taylor, a Cybils panelist from previous years. The book, which includes very fitting illustrations by Taylor's husband Jim DiBartolo, is the sequel to Blackbringer and continues the tale of the appealing little faerie Magpie Windwitch. In Jen's review, she says:

While fans of the first book certainly won't want to miss Silksinger, I would also recommend the Dreamdark books to people who aren't ordinarily fans of fantasy. Silksinger is beautifully written, suspenseful, heartbreaking, ingenious, and funny.
