As we head into another fall Cybils season, we want to express our gratitude in advance. We know that the blogging landscape has changed over the 13 years we’ve been and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to those who have volunteered to help us with this award. We appreciate your willingness, your time, and your expertise. And we love the community you’ve helped build! We quite literally can’t do this award without you, and we are extremely grateful!
Enough sentiment. We NEED your (and any bookish bloggers — we’ll take any platform: traditional, YouTube (go BookTubers!), Goodreads, Instagram — who are interested in kidlit) help to make this Cybils as successful as the past years have been!
Before you fill out the application, be sure to check out our FAQs about judging for us. There is this one, this one, and this one. PLEASE do this beforehand, so you know what to expect!
After you’ve done that, if you still want to sign up (and we hope you do!), here’s the link to the application form. Be sure to fill out all three category choices, and make sure they are ones that you will be willing to spend a lot of time reading (because you will be spending a lot of time with these books). The deadline to submit your application is September 13th at 11:59 p.m. EDT. (We’re hoping that we can avoid being cursed even if the deadline IS Friday the 13th!)
Our caveat: choosing judges isn’t a popularity contest. We try very hard to fit people to the best places we think they can go. If we don’t pick you, it’s not because we don’t like you. We hope you’ll still nominate your favorite books, drop by to read reviews, and follow the progress of the award.
