REVIEW
The Shadow Hunt by Katherine Langrish

We've been giving Charlotte Taylor some love here on the blog thanks to her fab entry for the Cybils Challenge, so why stop the love now? At her blog Charlotte's Library, she takes an in-depth look at a range of sci-fi and fantasy books for children and teens, which makes her a perfect choice for our Fantasy and Sci-Fi Round I judging panel (and it makes her blog a personal favorite!).

ShadowHunt Charlotte has a special focus on middle grade fantasy and sci-fi, and earlier this year, she reviewed Cybils nominee The Shadow Hunt by Katherine Langrish, a magical historical fantasy set in medieval Britain. Her take on the book:

highly recommended in particular to fans of both Rosemary Sutcliff (best ever historical fiction writer for children) and fantasy, and more generally to those who enjoy young characters bravely searching for their place in the world, those who love medieval castles, and those fascinated by the dangers inherent in Elfland.
